Yemen

Yemen is located on the southern tip of the Arabian peninsula and is home to one of the oldest civilizations on earth. The architecture varies with the landscape. Tall rock tower houses built on cliffs grace the cool highlands and mud brick skyscrapers are found in the hot deserts. Nomadic tribesman routinely carry guns and daggers, and the women of Jabal Sabir are such good bargainers that they shun the veil with impunity. Yemen is off the beaten path but the trekking is fantastic!
