The plan was to meet in the middle of Kings Canyon National Park in California and climb Mount Goddard.
One party came over Echo Col from the Eastern Sierra and the other group left from the West at Courtright Reservoir.
The rendezvous never happened. Late spring storms deposited 15 feet of new snow in the Sierra in April of 2003!
This video chronicles the West side attempt of the rendezvous. Flooding creeks and huge snowdrifts slowed their progress
every day. Above 9700 feet, the trail simply disappeared, but that didnít stop these tenacious hikers from reaching Hell
For Sure Pass!
